Card #3

Here I am again! With the 3rd card in my card installment this week. I actually have 2 cards for you today. Or rather, 2 versions of basically the same card. Again I was making Thank You cards. I did a giveaway on my own blog recently and am sending a TY card to the winners with their prize, just because I want them to know how much I appreciate their bloggy support.

On to the cards- For the first one, I wasnt sure how many flowers I would need, so I just cut a bunch of them- which led to the second card! The flowers are from George and Basic Shapes, in 1" for the center and 1 1/4" for the outer part. The yellow damask background paper is from Martha Stewart's Playful Blue paper pad. (I found it at Wal-Mart a long time ago). So I cut a bunch of flowers and just started arranging them on the card till I thought it looked right. After they were arranged, I stuck them down with a glue dot, in sections. I did it that way so I could draw the stems as I went, and have them actually connect to each of the separate flowers. When I was done sticking the flowers down, I added the bow "around" the stems and put a big glob of yellow stickles in the center of each flower to finish them off.

I love that by using only a glue dot to adhere the flowers, it allowed the petals to curl up a bit and give more dimension to the card.

When I was done with the first card, I had several flowers left over- but not enough for one exactly the same. I messed around with it a bit, and ended up with this-

So there you have it. The end of my week on the blog. I hope you enjoyed my cards! See you again soon!

  8. Really pretty cards, love the colours you've chosen especially the glimmer bazzill on the deeper shade. Great idea using the glue dots too. I love these, quick and simple but really beautiful, wish I had 'George' though.

  9. I really love the colors and the flowers! Did they curl up naturally or did you do something to give them some dimension?
